BACKGROUND
Ingredient Type: Probiotic
Also Known As: The name of each species or strain
Probiotics are live microorganisms that are shown to have health benefits. They are live bacteria and yeasts, and they are found naturally in the body and are often supplemented through the diet, particularly through yogurt, kefir, and fermented foods. Probiotics are often called “good” bacteria, because they help maintain a healthy gut. An estimated 100 trillion microorganisms representing more than 500 different species inhabit every normal, healthy bowel.
Probiotics are used in health supplements today to support bowel and vaginal health.
